Sloe Gin Kit with a Liqueurs Journal containing 14 recipes, by Almost Off Grid.
Dried Sloes are ideal for making Sloe Gin all year round, even when fresh sloes are not in season. The recipes for this, along with 12 other liqueur recipes, are contained in the Liqueurs Journal.
This kit contains:
- 1x 500g pack of dried Sloes
- 1 small mesh straining bag measuring 30x45cm which is washable and reusable
- 2 x kraft tags to attach to the bucket handle, indicating that there's sloe gin/another liqueur being created inside
- 6 liqueur labels for labelling bottles
- a small 3ml pipette to take samples until you are happy that your drink is ready to bottle
- 6 plastic topped corks which can be fitted into bottle necks without the need for a corker
- a Liqueurs Journal containing recipes for making the following liqueurs at home: apricot liqueur, blackberry whiskey, blackcurrant liqueur, cherry brandy, cherry 'port' (using the brandy-soaked cherries after making cherry brandy), Christmas pudding liqueur, fresh elderflower liqueur, hopped gin, Irish Cream liqueur, rhubarb and ginger liqueur, sloe gin using fresh sloes, sloe port (using the gin-soaked sloes after making sloe gin), sloe gin cider/slider (using the gin-soaked sloes after making sloe gin), sloe gin using dried sloes.
In addition to the kit, to make Sloe Gin you will need to add sugar, and a 75cl bottle of gin. You will also need a vessel in which to make the sloe gin. A large, scrupulously clean jar with tight fitting lid works perfectly. Plus you will need bottles for when it is ready.
Makes between 1.5 and 2 litres of Sloe Gin.
Makes a wonderful gift for anyone who wants to get started making their own delicious liqueurs at home.
