Filtering your wine before you bottle is a great way to ensure your wine has the professional clarity achieved in commercial wines without adding chemicals. The Harris Filters Vinbrite Mk3 Filter Kit allows you to do that.
Filtering ensures your wine is more stable and far less likely to re-ferment when bottled. Filtering removes tiny debris from your wine which helps to improve the maturing process. It will no adversely affect your wine's final flavour, it will only enhance its quality.
The first Vinbrite wine filter originated in 1966. Since the Harris Filters Vinbrite kit's original development, it has constantly been updated to keep at the forefront of home wine filtration.
The Vinbrite Filter Kit for Wines and Spirits Mark 3 Kit has now been modified to considerably increase its performance. This includes a venting system for the filter body.
The Filter Kit now has a much faster flow rate than the older models.
There are 3 pads available for the Harris Filters Vinbrite Mk3 Filter Kit:
- Coarse grade Prime Filter Pads (used to help remove stickily particles which would block filter pads).
These are all extremely efficient when compared to any other wine filtering media.
The Vinbrite instructions tell you that fermentation must be completed before filtering. Whenever gas bubbles are seen rising in the transfer tube, this indicates that the wine is still fermenting. When this happens, you should stop filtering and leave the wine to ferment out completely.
However, when filtering and handling wine in general, minute gas bubbles may be released as the wine is disturbed. This can result in a back pressure build-up in the filter body, which can also affect performance. This improved Vinbrite Filter kit has been re-designed to enable the winemaker to release any trapped air whilst filtering via the vent tube and tap.
The updating of this unique filter kit will keep the Vinbrite to the forefront of home wine filtration and will enable winemakers to filter wine more quickly to professional standards.
